New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a 7,000 pages chargesheet against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, his wife Leena Maria Paul and six others in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case. As per reports, according to the chargesheet, Chadrashekhar revealed during the interrogation that expensive gifts comprising a horse worth Rs 52 lakh and a Persian cat worth Rs 9 lakh was gifted by him to Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez.
Actress Nora Fatehi's name has also cropped up as the conman gifted her an expensive car. Both the actors have already been interrogated by the ED.
Earlier, Nora Fatehi had issued a statement, dismissing her involvement in the money laundering case. The statement said,"Nora Fatehi has been the victim around the case and being a witness, she is co-operating and helping the officers in the investigation. We would like to make it very clear that she has not been a part of any money laundering activity, she does not know or have any personal connection with the accused and has been called by the ED to strictly help with the investigation."
The reports said that Nora Fatehi was invited to an event by Chandrashekar's wife, Leena Maria Paul and received the expensive car as a gift for attending the event.
The Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing in August registered an FIR against Chandrashekhar for allegedly promoting the spouses of former promoters of Ranbaxy, Shivinder Singh nad Malvinder Singh, of Rs 200 crore besides ongoing investigations against him in several cases across the country. The complaint was filed based on a police FIR. In the FIR, it was mentioned that a man, who posed as a home ministry official, promised to help out with their husband's cases, who were arrested in 2019 for allegedly causing losses to the tune of over Rs 2,000 crore to Religare Finvest Ltd.
