New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone starrer 'Pathaan' has not just been ruling the box office but has been a craze among fans on social media. From people sharing dialogues, quoting moments from the blockbuster on social media, the past week has seen many #pathaan related trends going viral. Now, an influencer has shared her mimicry of Deepika's character Rubai from 'Pathaan' on Instagram. However, the influencer's version of Deepika's act has received mixed reviews from audiences.
Sharing dialogues and an action sequence of Deepika from 'Pathaan', the influencer Sonaliks Puri wrote, ""She nailed it, as always (flexed bicep emoji). shoot , costume, motivation & and patience credits - @tracingsilhouettes. #pathaan #deepikapadukone #shahrukhkhan #movies #Bollywood."

Soon after Sonalika shared the video, fans and users began commenting on her act. A user wrote, "Is it just me or did she not do it right? Neither the voice matched, nor the intonation, nor the pronunciation." Another stated, "The lack of expression is so expressive." Though a die-hard Deepika fan wrote,"Sorry bt No one in this world can match her , not even a little bit !" Yet another said, "Not even 1% close to real, btw try karte rehna cahiye (keep at it)."
While most netizens had mixed reviews, a small section praised the influencer's act. A user wrote, "Just got back home after watching Pathan! This is so accurate! You’re awesome girl." Another person, referring to the mimicry of Alia Bhatt in Brahmastra, said, “It is better than Shivaaa Shivaaa Shivaaa tum theek ho.”
For those unaware, Deepika plays an ISI agent named Rubai who collaborates with Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan ( Indian spy) to bring down an ex-Indian spy, John Abraham aka Jim, gone rogue. During the course of the film, Rubai's loyalty is challenged by both parties.
Written by Shridhar Raghavan, directed by Siddharth Anand, and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, 'Pathaan' was released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on January 25, 2023. The action thriller has already grossed Rs. 700 crores at the worldwide box office overtaking Aami Khan's Dangal's worldwide gross collection.
