Imran Khan Attack: Ali Zafar, Asim Azhar & Other Celebs Pray For Former Pak PM's Speedy Recovery

Social media turned abuzz with tweets and posts from popular celebrities, expressing their concern for the former leader and being in awe of his spirit despite being attacked.

New Delhi: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan suffered bullet injuries and was immediately taken to a hospital in Lahore after assailants opened fire at his container during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf party's 'Long March' in Gujranwala on Thursday. Several people, including PTI leader Faisal Javed, was injured in the firing.

One of the attackers, identified as M Naveed, was arrested from the spot. He said he tried killing Imran because he was "misleading the people". "I tried my best to kill him. I wanted to kill Imran Khan only and no one else," the attacker said.

As soon as news of the attack on Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan broke, social media turned abuzz with tweets and posts from popular celebrities, expressing their concern for the former leader and being in awe of his spirit despite being attacked.

Popular Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar took to his twitter handle and shared a video of Imran Khan, waving at the public after being attacked and shot in the leg 3-4 times. Ali Zafar wrote, "I remember the dark,depressing days n time after the assassination of Shaheed mohtarma BeNazir Bhutto. God forbid had anything fatal happened to 
@ImranKhanPTI. No one can imagine what would erupt. If this is his spirit after being shot 3-4 times in the leg we do need to #ImranKhan"

Another popular singer Asim Azhar, also tweeted, "Imran Khan ke saath puri qaum ki duaayen hain. May he recover from this like a tiger as always & come back stronger. We need him!"
