New Delhi: Popular rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh had a period in his life when he was out of the public eye and battling mental illness. He acknowledged the fact that several well-known people in Bollywood were there for him when he was going through depression. However, Akshay Kumar in particular requested him to speak over the phone. Earlier, the singer discussed his struggles with bipolar disorder. He remembered diagnosing his symptoms while serving as a judge on the singing competition programme ‘Raw Star.’

Honey Singh was recently interviewed by Sidharth Kannan, who asked him who in the film industry had reached out to him after hearing about his hardships. He said that he was unable to make phone calls at the time but that he had spoken to Akshay Kumar a few times.

He continued by saying that his mother urged him to contact Akshay Kumar and that the actor insisted on meeting with him as well. "My mother told me he wouldn’t take no for an answer. He told me everything will be okay, and suggested an Ayurveda program in South India. He said it could help. I didn’t go. But everybody was supportive and loving,” Honey Singh said.

Honey Singh also said that someone from Shah Rukh Khan's office contacted him, Deepika Padukone suggested a psychiatrist, and many others were there for him.

Honey and Akshay teamed together for the smash single ‘Party All Night’ from the film ‘Boss’. The duo reunited for the movie ‘Selfiee,’ to create the song ‘Kudi Chamkeeli.’

Honey Singh is now ready to return to the spotlight with a new album after being relatively inactive for the last several years. He will also be seen in a documentary on his life, directed by Oscar winner Guneet Monga and released on Netflix later this year.
