New Delhi: Looks like Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor has a reason to celebrate. Harsh's last release 'Thar' on Netflix in which he starred alongside his father Anil Kapoor and Fatima San Sheikh has been touted as one of the best films released on OTT this year. Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor also turned producer with 'Thar'. According to Ormax Media which released a list, of the most-liked Direct-To-OTT Hindi films of 2022 based on audience engagement, on Thursday, 'Thar' ranks on number 4.
In the list, 'A Thursday' 'Forensic', and 'Kaur Pravin Tambe?' emerged as the top three films followed by 'Darlings', 'Jogi', 'Cuttputli', 'Dasvi', 'Jaadugar', and 'Sharmaji Namkeen'. All of these featured in the Top 10 films list.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Harsh reacted to this film list and shared a message for his trolls. Starting his message with folded-hands and hearts emoji, the actor-producer wrote, "This is great.. despite the violence in our film that can be a no no for many types of viewers we’re very high on the charts for this year! Huge achievement for the entire team of #Thar- my first film as producer. I’d like to thank the trolls for free motivation."
Soon after Harsh made the update on Twitter, the comments section was flooded with appreciation for him and his performance in the Netflix film. A user wrote, "You were amazing in Thar, really liked your grounded performance." Another commented, "I really enjoyed Thar and I’m glad you’re not afraid to walk your own path in a time when a lot of others try to copy/paste everything and everyone. Keep it up!"
'Thar' has been directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary and produced by Harsh and Anil Kapoor. The film was released on Netflix on May 6. A western noir-thriller, 'Thar' follows the story of Harsh as Siddharth Kumar, a mysterious antique dealer through the Thar desert landscape avenging the death of a closed one by taking on violent and brutal killings of people who caused it.
