New Delhi: As Hanuman Jayanti approaches, devotees celebrate the auspicious occasion in special ways. In one such way, music production house Shemaroo Bhakti launched a Shankar Mahadevan special ‘Breathless’ rendition of Hanuman Chalisa.

Taking to their official Koo handle, they posted in Hindi, "Jai Shri Ram, ️ #HanumanJayantiSpecial Hanuman Chalisa (Breathless) dedicated to Rambhakt Bajrangbali in the voice of Shankar Mahadevan ji has been released."

The 4-minute rendition of Hanuman Chalisa is effortlessly sung by the singer-composer. The breathless rendition is special because of two reasons. 1) Shankar Mahadevan created this unique style of singing first with his album called ‘Breathless’ in 1998. 2) This was a supremely successful moment as it established Mahadevan as a singer with his unique might.

Earlier, the 55-year-old composer had shared his excitement of working on this devotional track directed by Dr. Sanjayraj Gaurinandan. He had also spoken about the difficulty of such a style of singing and enumerated the benefits of singing Hanuman Chalisa.

Shankar Mahadevan is also part of the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, a successful music composer team that has sung and written many Bollywood albums and songs. Some popular hits of theirs include ‘Maa’ ( Taare Zameen Par), ‘Bolo Na’ ( Chittagong) among others.

He is also the winner of multiple National Awards for Playback Singing and is also the recipient of Padma Shree for his contributions to Film music.
