New Delhi: Puneeth Rajkumar's swansong film 'Gandhada Gudi' is running successfully in theatres. In order to make the film reachable to as many children as possible, the makers have decided to slash ticket rates in the state of Karnataka for some days. The move was announce by the late actor's wife Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, on Monday.
In a statement that Ashwini shared on her twitter handle, she mentioned that it was Puneeth Rajkumar's last wish that more and more children should watch 'Gandhada Gudi', a children-oriented film that shows the rich bio-diversity of Karnataka. As soon as Ashwini sahred the tweet, the welcoming move was hailed by fans who lauded the makers for the intiative.
The statement shared reads as, "To the people of Karnataka, 'Gandhada Gudi' is Appu's dream where he wanted Karnataka's lush forests and natural beauty to reach each and every Kannadiga and this was the reason behind the movie to be made. It was Appu's wish that all Kannadigas especially the children shoould watch this movie, to make this possible, after having had discussions with the distributors, exhibitors and the film team, I have decided that the movie Gandhadagudi will be shown in all theatres from Monday 7-11-2022 to Thursday 10-11-2022 in single screen theatres for Rs 56 and multiplexes for Rs 112 all across Karnataka for all shows.
Let us preserve our forests for our children and show them the beauty of Karnataka!"

Gandhada Gudi is directed by Amoghavarsha JS. Starring Puneeth Rajkumar as the protagonist, the film is a documentary on Karnataka's wildlife.
Puneeth Rajkumar was a stalwart of Kannada cinema. He was posthumously conferred Karnataka's highest civilian honour, Karnataka Ratna, recently. The actor left for his heavenly abode last year, after suffering from a massive cardiac arrest at the age of 46.
