New Delhi: Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal tied the knot at a resort in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan on December 9 last year. The wedding was an intimate affair with only family and very close friends invited. The guests were not allowed to post pictures of the festivity and the first pictures of the wedding were posted by the couple themselves. Now, the actress has finally opened up about her private wedding.
On the red carpet of the 67th Wolf777news Filmfare Awards 2022, Katrina while speaking to Zoom Entertainment revealed the reason for her private wedding and said, “I think more than trying to keep it private, we were restricted by, unfortunately, Covid. You know my family has been personally affected by Covid and it was something that you had to take seriously."
“I think this year it’s been a lot better, but it was something that we wanted to really be cautious of, but the wedding was beautiful. I think we are both very happy," she added.
Vicky and Katrina both attended the Filmfare Awards. While Vicky sported a black tuxedo, Katrina looked drop-dead gorgeous in a sheer saree. As the couple entered the venue, host Ranveer said was quick to say from stage, “Oh my god, beautiful couple, God bless, God bless.” Arjun Kapoor, who was co-hosting with Ranveer also said, “Aayi Chikni Chameli (referring to Katrina's dance number) with Vicky Kaushal.” They were seated with Vicky’s brother, actor Sunny Kaushal.
Vicky Kaushal won the Best Actor (Critics) award for his film ‘Sardar Udham Singh’. In his winning speec he thanked Katrina, his parents and brother Sunny Kaushal.
On the work front, Katrina will be next seen in horror-comedy, Phone Bhoot, alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter. The film will release on November 4 this year. Apart from ‘Phone Boot, the actress has the third installment in the Tiger franchise with Salman Khan, ‘Merry Christmas’ with Tamil star Vijay Setupathi in the film and ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ with Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra' in her kitty.
