New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra is all set for the release of her upcoming show 'Citadel' on Amazon Prime. It is an American science fiction action thriller television series created by David Weil, with the Russo brothers being the executive producers. The series stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as 'Citadel' agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh. A week before the release of 'Citadel', Priyanka Chopra spoke to ABP Live in an exclusive interview, where she discussed the show, her character and her overall experience working with the Russo Brothers.

Talking about 'Citadel', Priyanka said, "Everyone enjoys listening to a story of a spy and is very interested to know about their lives. This makes me think that people will love the show as it is about the personal lives of the characters played by Richard and me. The movie is about their relationship, which I think creates drama in such a kind of show."

"Additionally, the movie has a lot of action, stunts and explosions, which makes it a Masala Blockbuster. This makes it all the more interesting for me, as I think the concept of a spy interests the audience a lot and this movie has a lot of drama along with being mission-oriented which makes the film different from other spy-thrillers.", she further told.

Priyanka also spoke about the episodes and said that there are a total of six episodes in the movie, and they have been shot like a film. She further added that the movie will be made available in at least six languages in India- dubbed and subbed.

On being asked what it was like, doing so many action sequences, Priyanka said, "It was really fun doing those action sequences, but I also got hurt a bit. (showing the scars on the top of her eye and hand) Then again, whenever you are doing an action film, you do get hurt. But, since I have been doing action films for a long time, I trust my body and know how to do it. Moreover, we had a great stunt crew, who have been working with Russo Brothers since 'Avengers'."

Talking about the Russo brothers, Priyanka shared the experience she had while working with them. She said, "They are really nice people, and I really like working with good people. It gives a different level of satisfaction. They are very family oriented and at times, his wife also came on the sets. We used to go out for dinner as well and since they were Italians, they always seemed to know the best pasta joint!"

"One thing that I learnt specifically from Joe, who used to be on the sets a lot, is the art of delivering dialogues in a cool manner, which is actually a very difficult thing to do. So, I just told them to make me look cool in the show.", she further added.

In Citadel, Nadia Sinh, the character played by Priyanka, had her memory wiped off. When asked what real-life memory would she like to wipe off, Priyanka said, "I would probably like to wipe off Covid times, but then again if I erase that, I won't get this show also. But, overall, we were so isolated during covid, I was in London for one and a half years for the shoot and could not meet my family, or anyone else. Only the cast and crew could meet each other, so it was very isolating."

About 'Citadel':

Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency— tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people— was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. One night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.

From Amazon Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, Citadel is executive produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes for AGBO, with David Weil serving as showrunner and executive producer. The series will be released on April 28.
