New Delhi: Vijay Varma has been basking in the glory of all the rave reviews he has been getting for his performance in ‘Darlings’. Vijay, who played the role of an abusive husband in the movie, impressed all with his acting skills. The actor shared screen space with Shefali Shah, and Alia Bhatt and was able to make his mark in the film.

The actor on Monday corrected a report claiming that his parents are assured of his acting career after the success of ‘Darlings’. A media house took to Twitter and wrote, “#VijayVarma reveals that the success of #AliaBhatt’s #Darlings has assured his parents that his acting career won’t leave him hungry.”

The Gully Boy actor replied to the tweet and wrote, “Ye toh maine Gullyboy ke liye bola tha.. uske baad bahot paisa kamaya hai bhai.”

The actor spoke about his parents' reaction to his success in an interview with Prabhat Khabar. “They do not have much regard for that. My mom is a very normal homely woman. She is mostly busy with her work. Yes, they are now assured that I won’t die because of hunger and I can earn my living comfortably. Every time my mom video calls me, she tells me I have slimmed down. She always asks me if I am not eating my food properly," he told Prabhat Khabar.

Meanwhile, Vijay too to Instagram today and posted a picture along with Shah Rukh Khan and wrote, “#Darlings is made with a lot of love and efforts of some of the most incredible creative minds and stalwarts. I was surrounded by people I learn from and aspire from. The best team one can ask for. Here’s the proof🤗”

Vijay Varma made his acting debut with a short film titled 'Shor'. He later featured in 'Pink', 'Super 30', 'Gully Boy', 'Baaghi 3', 'Ghost Stories' and 'Hurdang' among others.
