Popular car designer Dilip Chhabria was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch in a cheating and forgery case. The owner of car modification studio 'DC', Chhabria was booked under section 420 (cheating), 465, 467, 468, 471, 120 (B) and 34 of the Indian Penal code (IPC).

The development was confirmed by Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Milind Bharambe. However, police added that a car modified by Chhabria's DC Designs firm has also been seized as part of a case registered under IPC sections for cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy.



The court has sent Dilip Chhabria to police custody till January 2, 2021.

Dilip Chhabria is an Indian car designer and the founder of DC Design. He designed and manufactured the DC Avanti, which is considered as India's first sports car. Chhabria is known for giving futuristic makeovers to cars.
