Kangana Ranaut-starrer action film ‘Dhaakad’ was released with Kartik Aaryan’s horror-comedy ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. Both the films had opposite fates at the box office. While ‘Bhool Bhulaiyya 2’ will enter 100 crore club today, ‘Dhaakad’ is a disaster at the ticket window.

While most cinema halls have already discontinued showcasing Kangana starrer, some cinema halls still have it running. According to reports, ‘Dhaakad’ has collected Rs. 4,420 nett in India on its eighth day and had sold only 20 tickets across the country.

This is a very shocking number for a Kangana Ranaut film and nobody was expecting that the film will meet this fate at the box office.

‘Dhaakad’ is among the costliest female-led film in Hindi cinema and was made on a budget of Rs 80 crore to Rs 90 crore. Going by its performance, the film can be among the biggest loss-makers of all time.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the film is now also struggling to sell its OTT rights as the producers didn’t crack the deals before release.

Directed by Razneesh Ghai, ‘Dhaakad’ also stars Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta, and Saswata Chatterjee.

Though the film got mixed reviews and Kangana’s performance was praised, moviegoers have totally rejected the film making it a disaster of epic proportion.

Both 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' and 'Dhaakad' were released on 20th May 2022.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut has started preparation for her next project Emergency. The film is reportedly based on the Emergency phase and Operation Blue Star. Kangana is also directing and producing the film.
