New Delhi: Reacting to the reports doing the rounds on internet that the CISF officer who had stopped Salman Khan at Mumbai airport was penalised, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has said he was indeed rewarded for his "exemplary professionalism".

Taking to their official Twitter handle, CISF wrote: "The contents of this tweet are incorrect & without factual basis. In fact, the officer concerned has been suitably rewarded for exemplary professionalism in the discharge of his duty."

For the uninitiated, on August 20, Salman Khan arrived at the Mumbai airport to jet off to Russia for the shooting of ‘Tiger 3’. When the ‘Dabangg’ star was walking towards the airport terminal, the CISF officer in question stopped him to first get the mandatory check-up at the security checkpoint.

A video of this incident started doing the rounds on social media and the CISF officer was lauded by many on different social media platforms.

Meanwhile, some online reports suggested later that the officer's phone had been confiscated to prevent him from talking to the media, after he spoke about the incident in Odisha.

Besides Salman, Katrina Kaif also flew to Russia for the shoot for Tiger 3 shoot. The film is the third franchise of Tiger series and also stars Emrran Hashmi as antagonist.
