New Delhi: Bigg Boss 13 contestants Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana parted ways in December 2023 after dating for four years. The ex-couple have been quiet on their break-up after releasing statements on social media. Now Asim’s brother and ex-Bigg Boss contestant Umar Riaz has opened up about their separation.
Umar, who will soon be hosting MTV’s reality show D2R – 'Mr. and Mrs. Runway Model', spoke about their break-up with Indian Express. He said there’s always a reason for whatever happens.
“There is always a reason for everything to happen in life, and we forget about God often. People keep coming into your life and they leave also. If you get married to them, it means that person was meant to be. If you break up, it was not meant to be. Things didn’t happen because of their reasons. It’s their personal life, so let that relationship be where it was. Don’t give it importance like it was a divorce,” he was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
Asim and Himanshi had given religious differences as the reason for their break-up, Umar spoke about the same and said, “There are a lot many things. Love is not just love, you get attached to people, and get away from reality for a while. But both Asim and Himanshi represent different cultures from Kashmir and Punjab. When these two people meet, there are some aspects involved, and a few of them might not give a damn about those, but sometimes those aspects have to be considered. So when they thought about those aspects, they realized them being together anymore was difficult.”
While announcing their break-up, Himanshi had written on X, “YES, We are not together anymore, All the time we have spent together has been great but our togetherness comes to an end Now. The journey of our relationship was great and we are moving forward in our lives. With due respect to our respective religions, we are sacrificing our love for our different religious beliefs. We have nothing against each other. We request you to respect our privacy. Himanshi.”
After this, Asim also announced the breakup and wrote, “Yes Indeed we both agreed to sacrifice our love for our respective religious beliefs. We both are 30+ and we have full right to take these mature decisions and we made it. We’ve decided to part ways amicably, embracing our individual journeys. Respect for Himanshi and our diverse path and yes indeed I told her to write the real reason for our separation. Request you to all to respect our privacy.”
