New Delhi: ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ actors Raj Anadkat and Munmun Dutta were in the news recently for engagement rumours. While Raj, who used to play Tappu in the sitcom, had denied the rumour soon after the news went viral, Munumun Dutta has now stepped forward to clear the air.

Taking to Instagram stories, Munmun penned a note denouncing the fake news and expressed her resolve to focus on positivity.

In her statement, Munmun wrote, "Funny how FAKE news spread like wildfire and keeps coming back like a boomerang. Putting things straight again! Not Engaged. Not Married. Not Pregnant."

She further asserted that when the time comes for marriage, she will embrace it with courage and dignity.

Also, IF and WHEN I do marry, Whether a younger man or an older one I shall do it PROUDLY. Honey! That’s my Bengali genes. Always proud and brave. Joi Maa Durga,” she wrote.

Declaring her intention to move forward with optimism, Munmun asserted, "Not gonna be putting my energy to fake things anymore. Moving on to better things in life. God is kind and Life is beautiful."

Raj also denied the rumour and wrote, “Hello everyone. Just to clear things up, the news you’ve been seeing on social media is false & baseless.”

This is not the first time rumours have swirled around their relationship. Similar speculations emerged in 2021, prompting both actors to issue statements addressing the matter. Raj Anadkat expressed his frustration at the potential repercussions of false stories, urging individuals to consider the impact of spreading false information.

Meanwhile, Munmun Dutta voiced her disappointment at the derogatory comments and expectations placed upon her by the public. She called out the disparaging remarks, particularly from those perceived as educated individuals, highlighting the need for respectful discourse in public conversations.
