New Delhi: Sunny Leone, who became one of the most popular contestants of the celebrity reality show Bigg Boss 5, was hesitant to participate in the show with regards to her safety as well as her uncertainty about how the Indian audience would respond to her presence. But because the money was nice and she had just been married with a house to pay for, she decided to give it a try.
2011 saw Sunny Leone compete on Bigg Boss 5 as a wild card. Although Sunny ended up being the most well-liked candidate of that season, TV actor Juhi Parmar won the show that year. While she was still on the show, she received an offer to play the lead in Mahesh Bhatt's upcoming production. This was one of the biggest highlights of the show, that year.
During an interview with Mid-Day recently, Sunny shared, "I first did not want to go for many different reasons — the main one was safety, and I was worrying about how people would react when I would get there.” But she found the offer too lucrative to decline as it offered good money and was enough for her to make a down payment for a house in the US. She continued, "I just thought that after I come home in a week or two, I can put a down payment on a house. I just got married, so we were looking forward to this idea of starting our life, and we were like, ‘Great, we’re gonna be able to buy a house or put a down payment on a house’. Then that was it, it was that simple.”
In 2011, Sunny Leone married Daniel Weber. The couple now has three children: Nisha, a daughter, Noah and Asher, twin boys.
Recalling her experience of being cast in 'Jism 2', the actor said, "At that moment, I didn’t think it was real, because I didn’t even know who he was. They just said this is so and so from the film industry, and everybody else was going bananas in the house. This whole buzz was happening, and I was like, ‘Okay, fine, great. I don’t know who he is but he is probably amazing.'”
Sunny Leone is currently busy with the screening of her upcoming film 'Kennedy' with co-actor Rahul Bhatt and director Anurag Kashyap at different film festivals.
