New Delhi: An entire controversy has erupted with Sonu Nigam's recently released song 'Sun Zara'. It seems that fans and music enthusiasts have pointed out similarities between Sonu Nigam's latest track and that of an old song by Pakistani artist Omar Nadeem who sang 'Aye Khuda'.

When a radio jockey pointed out the same on his official social media handle, Sonu Nigam commented that he would never have sung the song in the first place had he known it belonged to someone else.

Sonu Nigam commented on RJ Sachin's post, "Just so you all know, I have nothing to do with this. I was requested to do the song by KRK who's my neighbor in Dubai. And they couldn't refuse him even though I don't sing for everyone."

"If I had heard Omar's version, I would have never sung it." Nigam added.

Meanwhile, Omar Nadeem had also taken to his social media handle to share a video that showed similarities between the two songs. He captioned his post, “I’ve reached a point in my life where I couldn’t care less about these things. But hey, if you’re going to do it, at least toss a little credit to the OG track. If you’re gonna pull this off, could’ve at least done it with some finesse. Huge fan of Sonu Nigam, but let’s be real, this is light years away from the real deal. #facts #omernadeem #sonunigam #tser.”

Omar Nadeem also shared a screenshot of Sonu Nigam's comments on a post that clarfied his stance on the entire controversy and wrote, "I’m humbled and honoured! ❤️"
