Famous Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has issued a clarification video after reports of his arrest at Dubai airport on Monday began circulating. According to initial reports by Pakistani media, the singer was detained following a complaint filed by his former manager, Salman Ahmed.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan arrested in Dubai
The singer was held at the Dubai airport for several hours. He had traveled to the UAE for a performance but was taken into custody at the immigration center and later moved to the Burj Dubai police station for questioning, as reported by GeoTV. Rahat’s former manager Ahmed had submitted complaints against him to the Dubai authorities, as per the sources.
Sources indicate that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had dismissed his manager Salman Ahmed a few months earlier after a dispute. As per an ANI tweet, the sources also said that both Rahat and Ahmed had filed cases against each other.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan issues clarification
After reports of his arrest in Dubai began trending, the singer posted a video on Instagram handle, urging people not to believe the reports of his arrest. "I came to Dubai to record a song. Some malicious reports are circulating about my arrest. Please do not believe them," he stated.
His team shared the video writing, "News circulating regarding the arrest of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is fake and baseless.
