New Delhi: Shefali Shah talked candidly about being a victim of harassment when she was a young kid. The celeb, who is a mother of two sons, urged people to raise their sons properly. Shefali was asked about her experience with street harassment during an interview with News18. The actor stated that she had experienced it as well, like most women do.

Shefali recalled the incident and said, "I think most of us have (faced street harassment). I remember when I was really young, and in the market, coming back from school, I faced it. And I couldn’t do anything about it. I was too young and I was just scared and no one stood up. I mean, it was crowded, but that’s not a justification but I guess almost all women have somewhere dealt with it.”

Shefali argued that only when sons are properly brought up can girls be safe.

"Whether I am a celebrity figure or not, I genuinely believe our daughters would be safe if our sons are raised right, and I have two sons. It’s my responsibility to raise them right. And now we don’t even talk about our daughters being safe. We just talk about people being safe, respected and not harassed. And for that, I’ve got to raise two good wonderful sensitive individuals... To put it short and sweet, I always tell my sons – treat others the way you expect to be treated yourself. It’s really just as simple as that,” she added.

On the work front, Shefali Shah was last seen in 'Delhi Crime' Season 2, helmed by Tanuj Chopra. For the role she played in the series last month, the actor received a nomination at the 2023 International Emmy Awards. Shefali plays the lead character in the show, DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, with Rajesh Tilang and Rasika Duggal also playing prominent parts.
