Shakira just dropped a delightful surprise for desi fans — casually saying “Hi India” while hanging out with none other than Diljit Dosanjh in a vanity van at the Met Gala 2025.

Shakira hangs out with Diljit Dosanjh at MET Gala 2025

In a video that’s now taking the internet by storm (and melting hearts across the subcontinent), the Colombian pop legend is seen chilling with the Punjabi superstar, looking completely at ease and all smiles. Also spotted in the video were Nicole Scherzinger and Tessa Thompson.

Shakira takes a moment to introduce everyone in the clip, and when she turns to Diljit, she says, “Say hi to India. Hi India.”

Before making their grand red carpet appearance, Diljit Dosanjh was seen posing with global icons Shakira and Nicole Scherzinger in what appeared to be a glamorous pre-event shoot on a sweeping staircase. Joining them in the now-viral photo were Hollywood actress Tessa Thompson, model Precious Lee, and Diljit’s designer and longtime friend, Prabal Gurung.

According to reports, the Lover singer was among a select group invited to attend Anna Wintour’s exclusive private dinner — seated alongside stars like Shakira, Nicole Scherzinger, and Gayle King.

Diljit Dosanjh's Look

At the Met Gala 2025, Diljit made a powerful statement with his jaw-dropping Maharaja-inspired ensemble. Styled by Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung, the look was a tribute to Patiala’s Maharaja Bhupinder Singh — and it turned heads for all the right reasons. The ivory-and-gold outfit featured a sleek silhouette, cinched waist, and a dramatic cape embroidered with Punjabi script. A jewel-encrusted turban, regal maharaja haar, and even a ceremonial sword completed the majestic look — a proud nod to his cultural heritage.

Diljit was among the few Indian stars representing at the Met Gala this year. Also seen gracing the iconic red carpet were Shah Rukh Khan, Kiara Advani — who made a stunning reveal of her baby bump in a sculpted Gaurav Gupta creation — and global icon Priyanka Chopra.
