Shah Rukh Khan’s legendary Mumbai residence, Mannat, has long been a landmark for fans, drawing visitors from across the country who gather outside for a glimpse of the superstar. Nestled along Bandra’s Bandstand promenade, the opulent bungalow has been home to SRK and his family for over 25 years. However, later this year, the Khan family will shift to a new residence temporarily as the mansion is set to undergo an extensive renovation.

Renovation plans for Mannat

According to the Hindustan Times, the renovation work is scheduled to commence in May, including an expansion project that had been in the pipeline for years. Since Mannat is classified as a Grade III heritage structure, any alterations required special permissions, which Shah Rukh recently obtained. Now, with the legal formalities in place, work on the property is expected to begin soon, prompting the Khans to relocate for the duration of the revamp.

Khan Family's temporary home in Pali Hill

While Mannat gets its makeover, Shah Rukh, along with wife Gauri Khan and their children—Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam—will move into a luxury apartment in Bandra’s upscale Pali Hill area. Reports suggest that the actor has leased four floors in an elite residential building owned by film producer Vashu Bhagnani. Red Chillies Entertainment, SRK’s production company, has signed a rental agreement with Bhagnani’s children, actors Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh, who co-own the property, Puja Casa.

As per the report, the four floors will not only accommodate the Khan family but will also house their security personnel, domestic staff, and even some office space. “It’s not as expansive as Mannat, but the space is sufficient to meet their needs,” Hindustan Times quoted its source as saying.

Reports indicate that the actor will be paying a monthly rent of ₹24 lakh for the property.

As per a Business Standard report, SRK has leased two duplex apartments covering the first, second, seventh, and eighth floors of the building. The agreement spans three years, though it remains unclear whether the Khans will stay for the entire duration.

The renovation of Mannat could reportedly take up to two years before the family moves back into their iconic home.
