New Delhi: Actor Saurabh Shukla recently revealed a fascinating behind-the-scenes anecdote from filming Kick, in which a misunderstanding over his performance almost caused chaos. In an interview with Digital Commentary, Saurabh related an event that happened on the set of 2014 film 'Kick', directed by Sajid Nadiadwala and starring Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Randeep Hooda.
Saurabh Shukla, who played the father of Jacqueline and an Indian ambassador in the film, reminisced about a moment in which his character encountered Devi Lal Singh, played by Salman Khan, who was interested in his daughter. He shared, “Salman’s character is meeting me for the first time as my daughter’s boyfriend. Interestingly, the scene is written in such a way that he asks me about my salary, my savings, etc… So when I am asked that question, I reacted in a way that showed the audience that I was stumped and shocked by that question.”
One of Salman's assistants approached Saurabh after the sequence had been filmed and advised him to change his expression. Saurabh continued, “The assistant felt I should act scared in front of Salman’s Devi Lal Singh. While I tried to argue that such a reaction doesn’t make sense, his assistant pointed out that Salman might not like that reaction.”
