New Delhi: Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga for sure doesn’t know how to take criticism. This time he has bashed actor Adil Hussain who recently expressed regret and embarrassment for being a part of Vanga's 2019 film ‘Kabir Singh.’ Sandeep, in response, took to X (Formerly Twitter) to publicly ridicule Adil's predominantly art film career.

In a tweet, Sandeep sarcastically remarked, "Your 'belief' in 30 art films didn't get as much fame to you as your 'regret' of 1 BLOCKBUSTER film did. I regret casting you, knowing that your greed is bigger than ur passion. NOW I'll save you from the shame by replacing your face with AI help. Now smile properly."

What Adil said about Kabir Singh
In an interview with AP Podcast's YouTube channel, Adil, who had a small role in Shahid Kapoor starrer had said, “That’s the only film in my life that I have done without reading the script, without seeing the movie which it is based on. I regret it till today. The only movie I have regretted doing is that film… Kabir Singh.”

He also said that he walked out of the theatre in just 20 minutes.

“I think a film like this, it celebrates something which is not beneficial for society. It legitimizes male misogyny. It legitimizes violence against anybody for that matter, doesn’t have to be a woman. And it celebrates it, it glorifies it and it should not be glorified,” he further said.

Talking about how he got the film, the actor said, “I told my manager, to ask them a lot of money and they will say no but they agreed so I went and did it and I liked the scene. The scene I did is a good scene so I thought the film is also going to be good. So I go to watch the film and I thought what am I doing here? You have no idea how I felt. I felt so embarrassed,” he shared.

He also said that he doesn’t want his wife to watch the film.

“She would be so angry if she sees this,” he said.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga has faced persistent backlash throughout his career for his portrayal of toxic masculinity and treatment of female characters in his films, from ‘Arjun Reddy’ to his recent blockbuster ‘Animal.’
