Rihanna performed the lavish pre-wedding party of industrialist Mukesh Ambani's son Anant and his fiancee Radhika Merchant.

New Delhi: Pop icon Rihanna set the stage on fire in her first performance in India, during the lavish pre-wedding party of industrialist Mukesh Ambani's son Anant and his fiancee Radhika Merchant. The 38-year-old singer-songwriter praised the Ambanis for inviting her to the family function. However, during her performance, Rihanna mispronounced Radhika's name while wishing her happiness.

In a now viral clip, Rihanna could be heard saying, "Thanks to the Ambani family I'm here tonight in honour of Anant and Radhika. Thank you for having me here. God bless your union. I wish you the best. Congratulations." 

Rihanna mispronounces Radhika's name

Netizens were quick to notice that the 'Wild Things' singer mispronounced Radhika's name in her speech. Here is how they reacted to the video:

Rihanna, dressed in a shimmering body-hugging fluorescent green and pink outfit, performed her best moves and interacted with the audience at the three-day event, which is taking place in a residential township near Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL)'s petroleum refinery near Jamnagar.

The international music star, who sang her hit songs like 'Diamonds', 'Where Have You Been', and 'Rude Boy' had Indian film stars like Shah Rukh Khan-Gauri Khan, Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone grooving to her music. Other well-known celebs who have been invited for the event are Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, and Madhuri Dixit.

According to several media reports, the singer was given over Rs 60 crore for her performance at the event. In 2018, Beyonce performed at the wedding of Mukesh Ambani's daughter Isha.

Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg with philanthropist-wife Priscilla Chan, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, former US president Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka, cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev are also part of the pre-wedding festivities.
