New Delhi: Ravi Kishan and Shah Rukh Khan are 'old friends'. Kishan worked with SRK in the Sridevi-starrer 'Army'. In a recent interview, Ravi Kishan mentioned that they were 'old friends' even though the two have not worked together in quite some time. Ravi Kishan was also asked for his take on the controversy around Pathaan's song 'Besharam Rang'.
Known for having been a part of quite many songs with suggestive lyrics, Ravi Kishan emphasised that 'cinema should function like cinema'. In an appearance on the TV show 'Aap Ki Adalat', Ravi Kishan said that 'songs should not be vulgar'.
He said, "Sometimes you don’t think about it, but as you get older, you should realise… A few films that I did of such nature… that song ‘Lehenga utha ke’… You realise that the producer has made such songs. Sometimes you would land up on set and the song would start playing and by the time you realise it, it’s late, because you are there on the set already.”
Speaking about his own participation in such songs, Ravi Kishan told the channel, "I didn’t have much time to listen to the songs. So many times, I wouldn’t even read the script and I would go through it on set because I was working three shifts a day. And I didn’t have the time."
He also recalled that he had previously apologised for performing on such songs.
When the show host asked that many TV shows where Ravi Kishan is invited as a guest, often play such songs in his welcome. To this, Ravi said that he had requested them to stop but he has realised that people are always looking for ways to stay relevant by creating controversies.
He also mentioned that TV shows want a boost for their TRPs and that marketing agencies also push these things for controversies.
