New Delhi: Ratna Pathak Shah recently spoke openly about her connection with her sister Supriya Pathak. For the unversed, Supriya Pathak and Ratna Pathak are daughters of veteran actress Dina Pathak. In a conversation with ‘The Male Feminist’, Ratna confessed to being an "emotional bully" when they were kids and said she was a terrible sister.

Despite their differences, the Pathak sisters share a close relationship. Ratna emphasised the special bond they have while admitting she “wasn't a good sister."

Ratna said that she emotionally abused Supriya, a behaviour she now regrets. The actress said, “We are very different from each other and yet there is a sense that there is someone like me. When we were kids, Supriya and I fought… I was not a good sister. I have to accept that I was a very big bully, but I am glad, I got all my bullying done then. I was an emotional bully, which is even worse.”

She also said, “Maara-maari karna is nicer, cleaner but this emotional bullying is killer. I hang my head in shame, that I did it. I have apologised to Supriya, she has forgiven me, I hope! We are fine.”

Ratna Pathak Shah on beauty standards

Bringing up the topic of conventional beauty standards and comparisons, Ratna spoke openly about her self-esteem issues. She shared,  “I was worried about my teeth, my thin lips; I would say my eyes are not big, look at Supriya’s, she has such wonderful eyes. But it didn’t really bother me, because I was focused on building myself as a whole person, not someone who looks like someone else.”

Supriya Pathak most recently appeared in Satyaprem Ki Katha, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, while Ratna Pathak Shah was last seen in ‘Dhak Dhak’ starring Dia Mirza, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanjana Sanghi.
