New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor has opened up about being labelled a 'casanova' and 'cheater'. The 'Animal' star recently opened up about his past relationships. In a conversation with entrepreneur and YouTuber Nikhil Kamath on the podcast Poeple by WTF, Ranbir spoke about his past relationships, his relationship with his late father Rishi Kapoor, and his experiences with therapy.

In the podcast teaser which was released on July 20, Ranbir Kapoor candidly spoke about his high-profile romances with Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. He spoke about how these relationships affected his public image. "I dated two very successful actresses, and that just became my identity—that I’m a casanova. I was labelled a cheater for a very large part of my life, and I still am."


Ranbir's comments have come years after public scrutiny following his breakups with Padukone and Kaif, with both relationships which saw sufficient media attention.

Ranbir also spoke about his equation with his late father. Calling his father a strict and caring figure, he said, "My father was a short-tempered man, but a very good man. I never saw the color of his eyes. I was always like this (bends down with his head low). I never said 'no'," shedding light on the complexity of their relationship with his father.


Speaking about his relationship with his daughter Raha, he said, "It’s like someone has taken your heart out and put it in your hands. Raha considers Alia as a part of her, and she looks for the masti and fun with me."

Ranbir also spoke about therapy and difficulty with self-expression. "I’ve tried therapy. It’s not that I’m against it, it’s just that I have to open myself up. And I’m very scared of opening myself up," he shared.


Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in Nitesh Tiwari's ambitious project 'Ramayana'. In the film, he will play the role of Ram alongside Sai Pallavi, who will essay the role of Sita. The film is scheduled to be released in 2027. 


Kapoor is also working in 'Love and War', which is being helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which will also star Alia Bhatt.
