New Delhi: Gwyneth Paltrow, who won the Best Actress Oscar in 1999, is currently in the news for allegedly using the award as a doorstop. In a recent interview, Paltrow flaunted the peculiar location of her Oscar trophy. A door outside Paltrow's Hamptons home is shown propped open by her Academy Award in a recent video for Vogue's '73 Questions' segment.

As the camera moves from the ground to Paltrow's face, the interviewer says, "What a beautiful Academy Award.”

“My doorstop! It works perfectly,” Paltrow responds.

Later, this video was posted on social media, where it soon became viral. In a statement to the same publication, Gwyneth's agent said that it was all a joke.

A lot of people posted funny responses to the viral video of the actor using the Oscar as a doorstop, and some criticised the actor for her actions.

In 1999, Gwyneth Paltrow earned an Oscar for her portrayal of Viola De Lesseps in 'Shakespeare in Love'.

A while ago, Bollywood actors talked about using their awards as door stops. “There are so many awards at home. My dad has worked for so long. I mean we have used awards as door-stoppers when the hinge broke. And when we did not have enough space, we would give it to others. That’s how life is. For me, I come to award shows, perform and host, and leave the rest to the audience. It’s also been so long and I feel the younger generation should get these awards. That’s their journey and it will motivate them,” Salman Khan said at an event.

The seasoned actor Naseeruddin Shah has expressed a similar viewpoint. The actor stated that he used trophies as door handles in an interview with Lallantop.
