Meghan Markle could be heading back to scripted television, with the Duchess of Sussex reportedly in talks to feature in the third season of Netflix's The Gentlemen. The development comes soon after reports that Markle has been considering a return to acting following her move back to the UK, according to Variety.
The series, created by Guy Ritchie, has yet to receive an official renewal for a third season. Still, discussions surrounding Markle's potential involvement have already sparked interest, particularly given her previous television career and decision to step away from acting after marrying Prince Harry.

What Is 'The Gentlemen' About?
Led by Theo James, The Gentlemen follows an aristocratic soldier who inherits his late father's vast estate. What initially appears to be a straightforward inheritance soon takes an unexpected turn when he discovers that the property is linked to an underground cannabis operation.
The show's first season proved successful, while its second season is scheduled to premiere on September 3.
Meghan Markle's Role Has Not Been Confirmed
There is still considerable uncertainty surrounding Markle's possible appearance. She is reportedly only in the very early stages of discussions, and no contract has been signed.
That means there is currently no confirmed information about the character she could play or how significant her involvement might be, should the talks eventually lead to a deal.
From 'Suits' To A Possible Return To Acting
Markle became widely recognised on television for her role as Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits. She appeared in the series for seven seasons between 2011 and 2018 before stepping away from acting after her marriage to Prince Harry.
Her on-screen career, however, hasn't disappeared entirely. Markle is due to make a cameo as herself in the upcoming Amazon MGM comedy Close Personal Friends, which stars Brie Larson and Lily Collins.
She recently fronted the Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, released alongside the launch of her lifestyle brand As Ever. Markle has also appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia.

Harry And Meghan Set For Extended UK Stay
The possibility of Markle returning to scripted acting comes as she and Prince Harry prepare for a return to England. According to Variety, the couple is expected to be back in the UK in the coming weeks, while their children, Archie and Lilibet, are due to start school in September.
The stay is expected to be for an "extended period", although the couple plans to keep their home in Montecito, California.
Despite the move, Harry and Meghan do not plan to shift their production company, Archewell, or their lifestyle brand, As Ever, to the UK.
The couple have remained non-working royals since stepping away from royal duties in 2020 and later relocating to California.
