New Delhi: Actor Manoj Bajpayee, whose latest web series ‘Killer Soup’ is currently streaming on Netflix, surprised everyone on the first day of this year when he posted his shirtless photo flaunting his perfect abs. As a part of the promotion of his series, the actor had posted the photo and wrote, “New Year New Me! Dekho d̶e̶l̶i̶c̶i̶o̶u̶s̶ soup ka meri body pe asar. Ekdum killer look hai na? 👀.”
His looks had surprised everyone as some applauded the actor for his ripped body while others believed the photo was AI-generated. Now the actor has shared that the picture was morphed and shared as a promotional campaign for ‘Killer Soup’.
“It was morphed It was a campaign strategy by Netflix. So, they wanted to start a campaign on a high with the intrigue and they managed to be successful doing it,” the actor was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
The show, released on Netflix on January 11, narrates the gripping tale of an ambitious housewife pursuing her dream of owning a restaurant and perfecting a soup recipe, only to be entangled in a web of lies and cover-ups.
Talking about the show, Manoj had said: "Killer Soup is not just a one-time watch. To truly appreciate the artistry and effort that has gone into the series, I urge viewers to watch it at least thrice. Each viewing will bring forth new realisations and a deeper connection to the characters and their resolutions.”
Manoj, who plays a dual role as Prabhakar ‘Prabhu’ Shetty, and Umesh Shetty, shared: “It's like peeling back the layers of an onion – there's always more to discover. There are so many subtle elements in the story and the characters that you might miss if you don't pay close attention. Every story chooses its own characters and I am fortunate to be a part of this masterpiece.”
Directed and co-written by Abhishek Chaubey, Killer Soup is produced by Honey Trehan and Chetana Kowshik. The web series also star Nasser, Sayaji Shinde and Lal.
