Kim Sharma Shares How Karan Johar’s DCA Strategically Made Orry A Household Name

Actress Kim Sharma, who is now working as the vice president of Dharma Cornerstone Agency, opened up about the calculated approach that helped shape Orry's enigmatic public image. 

Actress Kim Sharma, best remembered for her roles in 'Mohabbatein' (2000) and 'Tum Se Achcha Kaun Hai' (2002), has been making waves in the talent management space as the vice president of Dharma Cornerstone Agency. One of her most notable successes has been the meteoric rise of internet personality Orry. She recently opened up about the calculated approach that helped shape his enigmatic public image.

In a conversation with Kunickaa Sadanand on her YouTube channel, Kim explained, “The mystery around Orry is a large part of the strategy that we used to build an enigma. We never really answer questions around him. I would say he is one of the most successful social experiments that have occurred in recent times. He is an extremely cerebral person. He is very intelligent, and targeted. He is also new generation, so the evolution has kicked in. He is an elevated being in an already elevated generation. He is plus plus. He and I tied up very organically, and decided that we would work together.” 

She further elaborated on his identity, rejecting the common label of an “influencer.” According to her, “He is not an influencer. He is a celebrity. He has moved past a lot of limitations of titles. He is a person of large influence. He commands as much attention as anybody that’s doing anything.” 

The internet has long been obsessed with unraveling the mystery of Orry—his connections, his friendships with high-profile celebrities, and his omnipresence at elite events. However, Kim revealed that this intrigue is not accidental but rather a well-planned strategy. 

“When we started working together, my objective with him was longevity. That is, if we do create a sensation, it should not be overnight. My first intention with him was longevity. Everything we do around him is geared towards taking it for a longer period of time. A lot of strategy goes into building that kind of career,” she explained. 

On Orry's personal life

While she remained tight-lipped about Orry’s personal history, Kim shed light on her broader role in the digital space. She stated, “My job is to look at people on the digital landscape, ascertain their capability beyond the digital landscape and then pull them in and out and grow and amplify.” She humorously added, “So it’s projects, but not the toxic kind.” 

Orry has solidified his status as a social media sensation, frequently making appearances at exclusive events alongside Bollywood celebrities and prominent figures like the Ambanis. Yet, details about his background remain scarce, further fueling curiosity about his identity.
