KBC 16: Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan recently opened up about his academic journey during an episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 16,’ revealing that he scored only 42 percent in his Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree after initially failing the course.

Amitabh, an alumnus of Kirori Mal College at the University of Delhi, shared candidly about his experience with the subject. "I did BSc without even knowing what it was," he admitted, adding, "I scored well in Science, so I applied for it." 


The megastar humorously recalled the moment he realised he had made a mistake by choosing this field of study. "In just 45 minutes, what I had heard about the scope in science for 10 years changed everything," he said, referring to his first lecture in the course. 


Reflecting on his struggles, Amitabh revealed, "The first time I took the exam, I failed. When I reattempted, I somehow managed to score 42 percent. That saved me."

KBC 16, now in its 16th season, has captivated millions of viewers across India, with Amitabh Bachchan serving as its host since it first aired in 2000. According to a recent report by Money Control, Big B, who started his KBC journey with Rs 25 lakh per episode in 2000 and is currently earning Rs 5 crore per episode.

Amitabh graduated with his BSc degree in 1962, but his career path took a dramatic turn when he made his film debut in 1969 as a voice narrator in the National Award-winning film 'Bhuvan Shome' by Mrinal Sen. Later that year, he appeared as an actor in the film 'Saat Hindustani.'
