New Delhi: Actor-turned-politician Hema Malini has disclosed that her actress-daughter Esha Deol is contemplating a foray into politics. Hema, who currently serves as a BJP member of Lok Sabha from Mathura, shared this insight while discussing her family's support in her political endeavors. Interestingly, this revelation comes shortly after Esha Deol announced her separation from her husband Bharat Takhtani.

During a recent conversation with ABP News, Hema Malini shed light on her husband Dharmendra's unwavering support in her political endeavors. "My family is with me all the time," remarked the veteran actress, before elaborating, "Because of them, I am able to do it. They are looking after my house in Mumbai, so I am very easily coming to Mathura. I come and go as and when required. Dharam ji is very happy with whatever I am doing, so he supports me. He also comes to Matura at times."

When asked about her daughters, Esha and Ahana, and their potential interest in politics, Hema Malini responded, "If they want." However, she then disclosed Esha's inclination towards politics in the future. "Esha is very much inclined for that. She likes to do it. So may be in next few years, if she is interested, she will definitely (join politics)," Hema added.

Coincidentally, this revelation comes amidst news of Esha Deol's divorce from her husband Bharat Takhtani. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, recently announced their separation after 11 years of marriage. In a joint statement, they expressed their decision to part ways "mutually and amicably."

"We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We’d appreciate our privacy is respected," their statement read. Esha and Bharat are parents to their daughters Radhya and Miraya, who are six and four years old respectively.
