Actor Shoaib Ibrahim has taken to social media with a heartfelt plea to fans, revealing that his wife, actress Dipika Kakar, is scheduled to undergo a major surgery on June 3. Dipika, who was recently diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer, had her surgery postponed earlier due to a viral infection. Now, as the date approaches, Shoaib has asked everyone to keep her in their thoughts and prayers during this critical time.
Dipika to undergo surgery
On Sunday, Shoaib shared an emotional message on Instagram Stories, updating fans about Dipika’s condition and her upcoming operation. “Dippi's surgery is scheduled to happen tomorrow morning. It’s going to be a long surgery... she needs all your prayers & strength the most... please keep her in your prayers,” he wrote, adding folded hand emojis to convey his heartfelt request.
Dipika had previously been diagnosed with the flu, which delayed her initial surgery date. The couple shared this update through their YouTube channel last week, explaining why the procedure had been postponed.
Dipika’s Cancer Diagnosis: A Tennis Ball-Sized Tumour
Last month, Dipika opened up about her diagnosis in a personal Instagram post.
Reflecting on the shock and challenges of recent weeks, she wrote, “As you all are aware last few weeks have been quite difficult for us... walking into the hospital for a pain in the upper area of my stomach... and then finding out it's a tennis ball size tumour in the liver and then finding out that the tumour is second stage Malignant (Cancerous)... it has been one of the most difficult time we have seen, experienced.”
Hope, Strength & Prayers
Despite the diagnosis, Dipika remains positive and resilient, surrounded by the support of her family and well-wishers.
She expressed her determination to fight through this phase with faith and love, saying, “With my entire family being by my side and all the LOVE and PRAYERS pouring in from all of you I will sail through this too! InshaAllah. Keep me in your prayers! Lots of love. Dipika.”
Dipika and Shoaib are parents to a baby boy, Ruhaan. The couple has frequently shared glimpses of their journey through vlogs and Instagram updates, receiving immense support from fans across the country.
