New Delhi: Dev Anand's house is not being converted into a tower. Reports have been rife that the legendary house in which the yesteryear star lived for 40 years with his wife Kalpana Kartik and children, Devina Anand and Suniel Anand has changed hands and will now be converted into a tower. As per some media outlet reports, the property was being sold for Rs. 350-400 cr.
There was also speculation around Dev Anand's property being sold as there was nobody to take care of it. Dev Anand's son lives in the US and his daughter Devina in Ooty with her mother Kalpana.
As per an ETimes report, the late superstar's house was to be converted into a 22-floor tower.
However, now, it seems Ketan Anand, son of Dev Anand's brother Chetan has denied the real estate development speculation. The senior filmmaker denied such reports and put an end to the tower conversion story.
Ketan Anand told ETimes, " No, it's false news. I have checked with Devina and the family."
Dev Anand's house in Juhu stood as a living testament to his legacy in the world of Hindi cinema. Earlier, in an interaction many years ago, the superstar had said that he built the house in 1950 in Juhu and the area at the time was like a village and he was a loner.
Interestingly, some time ago, there were similar reports about Dilip Kumar’s iconic Bandra bungalow which was sold and to be renovated with a museum and a multi-story residential project in Mumbai.
Dev Anand was regarded as one of the grested and most successful actors in the history of Indian cinema. His prolific career spanned over six decades and more than 100 films. Dev Anand is also the recipient of India's high civilian honours like the Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
