New Delhi: Television actress Dalljiet Kaur has accused her estranged spouse Nikhil Patel of cruelty and criminal breach of trust in an FIR. The Agripada police station in Mumbai received the complaint, which was filed in accordance with sections 85 and 316(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Section 85 deals with the punishment for cruelty inflicted on a woman by her husband or in-laws, whereas Section 316(2) deals with the penalty for infidelity.

Dalljiet Kaur’s Instagram Note

Dalljiet took to her Instagram account after filing the report to thank the Mumbai police for their assistance. She added that she was extremely anxious about visiting a police station.

Dalljiet wrote, “Thank you Joint Commissioner Of Police Anil Paraskar, DCP Krishnatkant Upadhyay, Senior Inspector Yogendra Pache & Investing Officer Sachin Shelke along with a lady constable for your efficiency. Thank you AGRIPADA PS for letting a woman know that she is safe in this country.”

The FIR comes a few days after the sightings of Nikhil Patel at Mumbai Airport with his new rumoured girlfriend Safeena Nazar. Dalljiet went to court in Nairobi City in June to get a stay order that would stop Nikhil from forcibly removing her and their kid from their Kenyan home.

On Friday, Dalljiet Kaur blasted Nikhil Patel in a lengthy social media post (now deleted). She mentioned that her son Jaydon still refers to Nikhil as "papa," a term that will be hard for him to unlearn.

Dalljiet shifted to Kenya shortly after her marriage to Nikhil in March 2023. She returned to India in January 2024. Before this, in 2009, Dalljiet tied the knot with Shalin Bhanot. In 2014, they had a son, Jaydon. They split up after she accused Shalin of domestic abuse in 2015.
