Bhuvan Bam, the popular YouTuber and actor, has transitioned from content creation to becoming a prominent actor with a hit OTT series, 'Taaza Khabar'. His journey, which began in 2015, has been riddled numerous challenges. During the ABP Impact Makers Conclave, Bhuvan reflected on his experiences, including the misconceptions about him being from Karachi and how his channel, BB Ki Vines, and the beloved character Titu Mama came to life.
When Bhuvan was asked about a popular character played by him, Titu Mama
Bhuvan admitted that Titu Mama was in fact his real mama( mother’s brother with a different name).
“Titu mama mere actual mama hai, unka nam voh nhi hai nahi to unke pados mein log dhar lenge unhe. Jab maine BB Ki Vines shuru kiya tha to mujhe nahi pata tha main aisa character karunga. Mere mama ko aisa lagta tha ki meri behen mere bhanja ko chodh kr sab pagal lagte hai. Yeh meri family mein to hota hai to vahi character trait maine Titu Mama mein dala. (Titu Mama is actually based on my real uncle, although that’s not his name—otherwise, people in his neighborhood would recognize him! When I started BB Ki Vines, I had no idea I would create such a character. My uncle always felt that barring his sister and his nephew, everyone else was mad. That is a common dynamic in my family. I drew from that to shape Titu Mama’s character traits.)
Adding that he did not realize that the character of Titu Mama would reach his real uncle who was quite happy about it and even went further to share his ideas about what I should talk about next.
Bhuvan said that he was quite proud of the support and content he got from his family who despite he highs in his career always emphasised, “Seena chauda aur aankhe neeche,”( always be humble) adding that in his family the appreciation has always been behind his band and within closed doors.
