New Delhi: Arijit Singh is a singer whose fan base and discography have only increased and become even more popular. From the biggest of celebs across demographics, language barriers, the singer-composer is one of the most in-demand singers in the industry. In his recent Dubai concert, Arijit Singh apologised for not recognising a Pakistani actor, Mahir Khan, who was also among the attendes at the concert.
Recently, a video from Arijit Singh's Dubai concert went viral in which we see Arijit Singh introducing Mahira Khan to the audience. Singh also apologises for Mahira for failing to recognise her earlier as he sang her song from SRK starrer 'Raees'.

“You guys will be surprised to see who’s here, watching. Should I reveal?,” Arijit asked his audience, which said a loud “yes”. “I should reveal in a very nice way. Can we have the camera there? I was trying to recognise [her] as I have seen this person somewhere. And it turns out, I had sung for her. Ladies and gentlemen, Mahira Khan is sitting right in front of us,” he said, and the crowd cheered for the 'Humsafar' actor.
“Think about it… I was singing her song ‘Zaalima’ (from Raees) and it’s her song and she was singing and standing and I couldn’t recognise her. I am so sorry. My gratitude you came here… thank you so much,” he said.
Meanwhile, the 'Zaalima' track is among the most popular ones from 'Raees'. Written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and sung by Arijit Singh and Harshdeep Kaur, 'Zaalima' was filmed on Shah Rukh Khan and Pakistani actor Mahira Khan. In the song SRK and Mahira's character Raees Alam and Aasiya Qazi celebrate their love together in the film.
