New Delhi: Actor-producer Arbaaz Khan has recently delved into the issue of nepotism prevailing in the Hindi film industry. Son of the renowned screenwriter Salim Khan and sibling to the megastar Salman Khan, Arbaaz made his stance clear, emphasising that while family ties might provide an initial opportunity in Bollywood, they do not ensure a sustained career trajectory.
Addressing the topic during a chat on ‘Timeout With Ankit Podcast’ alongside his brother Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan candidly shared insights into the challenges faced by those with familial connections in Bollywood. He reflected, "If your father is a doctor or a lawyer, you will have access to others in those professions. Similarly, as actors, if we wanted to meet someone from the industry, it was possible for us because our father was a film scriptwriter and part of Bollywood. Kisi se mila aasan ho jata hai par uski wajah se kaam milna woh zaroori nahi hai (Meeting someone becomes easier if your father is part of the industry, but that doesn’t guarantee work)."
Arbaaz said "It may give you a break but won’t build your career," while acknowledging that despite not attaining the same level of stardom as his brother Salman Khan, both he and Sohail Khan continue to navigate the industry with their respective projects.
As the conversation turned to the next generation of the Khan family, Arbaaz Khan shared insights into the career paths of his son Arhaan and Sohail Khan's son Nirvaan, affirming that they are currently in the process of grooming themselves for potential ventures in the entertainment industry.
Regarding his private life, Arbaaz Khan recently tied the knot with Sshura Khan, after a lengthy divorce from his former wife Malaika Arora. From his first marriage, Arbaaz Khan has a son named Arhaan Khan.
