New Delhi: Ameen Rahman, son of music maestro AR Rahman, has denied the "baseless" claims that have linked his parents' recent split to bassist Mohini Dey's divorce. On November 19, famed musician AR Rahman and Saira Banu announced their separation after 29 years of marriage. On the same day, his bassist Mohini Dey announced her divorce from his spouse, Mark Hartsuch. People on the internet were curious about the timing of these announcements and started to speculate that there could be some link between them.

Now, Ameen Rahman took to Instagram to confront the rumours head-on, even though the lawyer for Rahman and Saira had already denied any connection between the splits. Sharing his touching remark about his father, Ameen wrote, "My father is a legend, not just for his incredible contributions, but for the values, respect, and love he has earned over the years. It's disheartening to see false and baseless rumors being spread."

His post further reads, “Let us all remember the importance of truth and respect when speaking about someone’s life and legacy. Please refrain from engaging in or spreading such misinformation. Let’s honour and preserve his dignity and the incredible impact he has had on all of us. #EPI.”

Earlier, Ameen's sister Khatija also posted on social media, asking for privacy for the family as they go through this tough time.
