New Delhi: Arriving in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, Akshay Kumar joined the inauguration ceremony of the city's first Hindu stone temple. The temple, spanning across a vast 27-acre site, was built by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 


Dressed elegantly in a white and golden kurta-pyjama, Akshay Kumar was captured by the media as he stepped into the temple on its inaugural day. As seen in a video that ANI uploaded to its X, he was accompanied by tight security. Akshay Kumar’s presence added glamour to the auspicious occasion.




While Akshay Kumar remained tight-lipped during his temple visit, he conveyed his reverence by folding his hands in prayer as he walked through the temple premises. His presence symbolised the bond between India and the UAE, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and friendship. 


Other notable guests in the UAE ceremony inaugurating the BAPS Hindu Temple include Shankar Mahadevan and Dilip Joshi, among others.

The BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, inaugurated by PM Modi, stands as a monumental achievement for Abu Dhabi's diverse Hindu community. The temple stands tall at 108 feet in height, 262 feet in length, and 180 feet in width.


The BAPS Hindu Mandir temple combines modern engineering with more conventional, age-old ways of construction. the temple is constructed without the use of metal. Equipped with over 300 high-tech sensors to monitor temperature and seismic activity, the temple ensures structural integrity and safety. The ambitious project is estimated to cost approximately Rs 700 crore.

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar is set to grace the silver screen with multiple exciting projects. His upcoming movie, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', starring alongside Tiger Shroff, Alaya F, and Manushi Chhillar, is slated for release on Eid 2024.


Additionally, Akshay will star in 'Welcome To The Jungle', featuring an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, and others. He is also set to headline 'Sarfira', a remake of the Tamil hit 'Soorarai Pottru', directed by Sudha Kongara and featuring Radhika Madan in the lead role.
