OTT platform's latest show 'House Arrest' has sparked massive controversy online for its explicit and allegedly inappropriate content. Hosted by former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan—who calls himself the “Daddy of the House”—the show has quickly become the subject of online trolling and criticism for crossing boundaries of decency.
Why has House Arrest sparked controversy?
In a recent episode circulating widely on social media, a female contestant revealed she was unfamiliar with sexual matters. Instead of respecting her discomfort, Khan encouraged other contestants to demonstrate sex positions on camera. He directed the scene as if it were a film set, instructing some to “act” and others to “direct,” leaving the contestant visibly uncomfortable.
The disturbing footage has drawn backlash from viewers who described it as “degrading,” “disturbing,” and “beyond vulgar.” Many have questioned how such content is still being aired, and demanded urgent censorship action from authorities.
“As the girls take off their underwear, the host of the show and the rest of the people boo and clap,” wrote one user on X (formerly Twitter).
Angry netizens reaction
“They talk about on-camera sex positions. All this is shown online and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is asleep. This must be stopped immediately.”
Another user tagged Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, calling for “strict censorship on OTT platforms and TV channels.”
“This show is not only disgusting but also beyond the definition of vulgar. The host, Ajaz Khan, is crossing all limits. It's a cheap rip-off of Bigg Boss. The reels of this show are going viral. Please ban it,” wrote another concerned viewer while tagging the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
According to a report by Live Mint, a legal complaint has been filed against the makers of House Arrest. Advocate Vineet Jindal confirmed that the complaint has also been submitted to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Delhi Police.
“The content of the program is highly objectionable, offensive, and blatantly violates Indian cultural and legal standards. We demand strict action against the makers, actors, and everyone involved,” Jindal posted on social media.
“Such irresponsible and vulgar content must not be allowed to circulate unchecked. A strong precedent must be set to prevent future violations.”
Despite the growing outrage, Ajaz Khan has remained silent and has not issued any official statement regarding the controversy.
