New Delhi: 'Brahmastra' is riding high on the success of a super-grand opening day box office collection worldwide. While the Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bcahchan, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy starrer became the highest-grossing non-holiday release for a Bollywood film, it could not manage to surpass the 'KGF: Chapter 2' box office's first day collection, in terms of the post-pandemic release.

'KGF: 2' which released earlier this year managed to open at Rs. 52.39 crores domestically. 'Brahmastra' comes at the second spot with Rs. 31.75 crores while it does beat the opening day box office of films like 'Sooryavanshi' (Rs 26.11 crore) which was released on a national holiday, 'RRR' (Rs 19.38 crore) and Kartik Aaryan's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' (13.41 crore).

Given the current boycott trend surrounding the film and the recent spate of big-hero flops at the box office, 'Brahmastra' has received the faith of many in Bollywood with its stellar performance. The hopes are definitely higher now, considering its opening day number. In fact, globally 'Brahmastra's box office collection stands at Rs. 75 crores, makers shared. A momentous feat for the team of 'Brahmastra'.

'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva' has delivered a massive opening day of Rs 75 crores (GBOC), igniting celebrations across the country, the film industry, theatre owners and audiences, with the weekend total expected to be huge!", a note shared by the film's production banners.

Although the Ayan Mukerji directorial has the highest numbers for a Hindi release, it is still behind Yash's 'KGF 2'.

Taking to his social media, 'Brahmastra' director Ayan Mukerji expressed gratitude for all the love that the audience is giving in return of his efforts. Sharing the global box office collection, Ayan wrote, "BRAHMĀSTRA DAY 1 🕉💥Gratitude. Excitement. Hope.A Big Thank You to Everyone Everywhere who has gone to the Cinemas to experience Brahmāstra, keeping our movie-going culture, vibrant and dynamic.Looking forward to the next few days… 🤞💥"
