New Delhi: Actor John Abraham, touted as the action hero of Bollywood, is all set to thrill the audience with yet another action packed thriller. The 'Satyamev Jayate' actor has joined hands with producer Dinesh Vijan for his upcoming project christened 'Tehran'. The film will hit the theatres on January 26, next year, on the occasion of Republic Day.



Vijan's banner Maddock Films on Tuesday afternoon announced its next - the action-thriller 'Tehran' starring John, directed by Arun Gopalan and written by Ritesh Shah and Ashish Prakash Verma. Inspired by true events, the film will show John in his unusual patriotic avatar.

 

John Abraham took to his social media handle to announce his upcoming project. Sharing a poster of the film on Instagram, he wrote, "Get set for an action packed Republic Day 2023. Thrilled to announce my next."

A Maddock Films production in association with Bake my Cake films, the film is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Shobhna Yadav and Sandeep Leyzell. Vijan's Maddock Films has delivered some memorable hits such as 'Badlapur', 'Stree', 'Bala' and 'Mimi'.


John Abraham's 'Attack' will also hit the theatres on April 1. The film, which was earlier slated for a Republic Day release was postponed owing to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. The patriotic drama stars Rakul Preet Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film will be made in two parts, with the first part releasing on April 1.

On the work front, John Abraham has an interesting line-up of films this year. The actor will next be seen in 'Ek Villain Returns' that also stars Tara Sutaria, Arjun Kapoor and Disha Patani in lead roles. John is all set to deliver a power-packed performance in Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Pathan'. Produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, 'Pathan' is one of the most anticipated films this year and features Deepika Padukone as the female lead.
