New Delhi: Bharti Singh is back to work after delivering a baby boy. 12 days after her delivery, the comedian resumed working and was trolled intensely for the same reason.
Many called her greedy for money while others were skeptical about leaving such a small baby at home.
Bharti was seen in the Grand Finale of 'Hunarbaaz' and has now started working on 'The Khatra Khatra Show'. The 37-year old responded to some of the trolling in an interaction with the media.
She said,"There are some people who have criticized me saying, 'arre baccha chod ke agayai, itni bhi kya jaldi thi’. Log hamesha bolte hain but hamesha positive baaton ko sunna chahiye. Hum upar se utri hui pariyaan nahi hai jo itna rest kare. Bahut saari working woman hoti hai joh apne ek hafte ke baby ko chod kar kaam par jaati hai.”( "She has left her baby at home, what's the hurry. People always talk but we should always focus on positive things. We are not women who have come down from heaven who need a lot of rest. A lot of working women resume working a week after they have had babies")
While Bharti is away from home, she added that the baby feeds on mother's milk and there are many people at home to take care of him. "The Khatra Khatra Show is our dream project and we can't ignore it. Some people say, 'baby chota hai, usko chodke kaise agaye’. Aisa bilkul nahi hai. Main baby ko feed karati hu, mera hi dudh peeta hai.”(Some people say, How could you leave such a small baby at home. There is nothing like it. I still feed the baby)
Bharti Singh worked till the last day of her pregnancy. Many lauded her efforts for breaking stereotypes but others have now called her out as 'greedy' and 'insensitive'.
Meanwhile, 'The Khatra Khatra Show' is a celebrity game show that has them participate in fun games. As of now, the show has seen guests like Sonakshi Sinha, Jacqueline Fernandez and Sunny Leone. The show is produced by Bharti's husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa and is available to stream on Voot.
