New Delhi: One of the most anticipated movies of the year, ‘Durgamati: The Myth’, starring Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role is all set to release on December 11. The makers gave all the spooks when they released the trailer of the movie a few days back which triggered the audience to watch the movie of dirty politics with fear. Another reason which makes it one of the most awaited movies of this year is because the audience is eagerly waiting to watch Bhumi reprise the role of the protagonist played by Anushka Shetty in the film ‘Bhaagamathie’.

‘Durgamati’ is the remake of the 2018 Telugu film ‘Bhaagamathie’ which starred ‘Baahubali’ actor Anushka Shetty portraying the role of the protagonist. Earlier today, Anushka Shetty took to her Instagram and wished Bhumi Pednekar and the entire team of ‘Durgamati: The Myth’ good luck.

She shared a poster of the movie and wrote, “Wishing dearest Bhumi Pednekar ,Ashok Garu ,entire cast and crew of #DURGAMATI all the very very very best ... looking forward @bhumipednekar @ashokdirector @primevideoin #DurgamatiOnPrime”



Other than Bhumi Pednekar, ‘Durgamati’ also Arshad Warsi, Jisshu Sengupta, Mahie Gill and Karan Kapadia in prominent roles. The plot of the movie revolves around an IAS officer Chanchal Chauhan, who becomes a victim of a major conspiracy involving powerful forces. She is imprisoned in a haunted house while being interrogated by law enforcers in a corruption case.

The film has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Akshay Kumar and Vikram Malhotra under T-Series, Cape of Good Films and Abundantia Entertainment.

‘Durgamati: The Myth’ was earlier titled as ‘Durgavati’ and the trailer of the film is quite similar to that of the original Telugu version and some of the exact scenes have been reprised from ‘Bhaagamathie’ in the trailer.
