New Delhi: Akshay Kumar is one of the performers who like to do his own stunts, sometimes executing dangerous feats without the assistance of a body double. The actor was hurt during a recent stunt scene for the forthcoming film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. According to reports, he was injured while shooting an action scene with Tiger Shroff in Scotland.

According to Hindustan Times, he has been requested to take a backseat for quite some time, and shooting on that specific scene has been temporarily suspended. Therefore he is filming his last parts with close-ups.

A source has told Hindustan Times that Akshay suffered knee injuries during filming.  “Akshay was shooting for an action sequence with Tiger, and it was a particular stunt he was performing when this injury happened. He has braces on his knee right now,” the source said.

The source added, “Though the action portions have been put on hold for the time being, Akshay continues to shoot the rest with his close-ups, so that there are no delays in wrapping up the Scotland schedule.”

The movie, which will mark the beginning of an action franchise, is a follow-up to Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda's 1998 hit film 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', which was directed by David Dhawan.

The film is directed by renowned filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Himanshu Kishan Mehra and Zafar. ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ is set to premiere on December 25 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kanada, and Malayalam. The movie stars Sonakshi Sinha, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and others in key roles.

‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ marks Prithviraj Sukumaran's fourth film in the Hindi cinema industry after ‘Aiyyaa’, ‘Naam Shabana’, and ‘Aurangzeb’.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar's next project is ‘OMG 2’, which also stars Yami Gautam. The actor will also be reuniting with Radhika Madan for a remake of Soorai Pottru. Also, he is filming ‘Capsule Gill’, starring Parineeti Chopra.
