New Delhi: Actor Irrfan Khan became a household name because of his impressive performances. The actor lost his fight against a neuroendocrine tumour in April 2020. The Piku actor was born on January 7th, thus we celebrate his birthday today. In an interview, Irrfan’s son Babil Khan reflected on coping with the loss of his father. The ‘Qala’ actor said that he isolated himself for 1.5 months.

Babil Khan spoke about the close relationship he enjoyed with his father and the impact of his death. Talking to Bollywood Bubble, he said, "I think when it first happened the first day was just I think I didn’t believe it so I thought I had I’m so mature, ‘Maine toh deal bhi kar liya’. Okay in the first I’m a child and the next day just subtle feelings of it like it wasn’t one week had passed and it hit then and then I just went into a really bad spiral like I just locked myself in my room for one and a half months.”

The actor discussed how he coped with the pain, “It’s like one of those things like you get up to tell Baba something or you get up to like message Baba and then you realize in these subtle ways that he’s not there anymore. You know what I mean and back then he used to shoot so much that sometimes he’d be gone for a long shooting schedule and eventually he’d come back. So first when it happened I had somehow convinced myself that he’ll come back after the shooting schedule. Then it slowly started hitting me and I realised that this is an indefinite shooting schedule and he’s not coming up.”

Babil Khan recently made his first appearance in OTT movie, ‘Qala’. Anvitaa Dutt helms the film, which stars Swastika Mukherjee and Triptii Dimri in significant roles.
