New Delhi: An arrest warrant has been issued against popular dancer and former Bigg Boss contestant Sapna Chaudhary for allegedly not refunding ticket money for a cancelled dance program. '

As per the latest update in the matter, Lucknow Police team has left for Haryana in search of Sapna. On May 10, Sapna surrendered in the court and got interim bail and on June 8, Sapna's regular bail application was conditionally approved. On Monday, August 22, charges were to be framed against other accused including Sapna. In lieu of her absence in the court at the time of hearing, along with the application for apology on behalf of Sapna stating the same, not given to the court, an arrest warrant was issued against the popular dancer.

A case is registered against Sapna in Ashiana police station.

The warrant was issued by a Lucknow court and the next date of hearing is September 30. An arrest warrant was issued against her in the case by the same court in November 2021 also, after which she had appeared in the court and obtained bail.

According to PTI, she was supposed to appear in court on Monday. But she did not turn up, nor was any exemption plea filed by her lawyer. At this, the court issued an arrest warrant against her.

The FIR in this connection was lodged by sub-inspector Firoz Khan on October 14, 2018 at Ashiyana police station in the capital city.

Besides Chaudhary, the FIR names program organisers Junaid Ahmad, Naveen Sharma, Iwad Ali, Amit Pandey, and Ratnakar Upadhyay.

The dance program was scheduled at the Smriti Upvan on October 13, 2018 from 3.00 pm to 10.00 pm, and tickets were sold online and offline at the rate of Rs 300.

Thousands of people present at the venue created a ruckus after Chaudhary did not turn up for the event and their money was also not returned.

In February 2021, Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing also registered a case against Sapna Choudhary on charges of cheating and breach of trust.

The case was registered after a celebrity management company, that was managing Sapna, filed a complaint against her and several others including her mother and brother for criminal breach of trust, criminal conspiracy, cheating, and misappropriation of funds.

Sapna began dancing at an early age to help her family financially after her father passed away in 2008. She also sings in the Haryanvi local dialect and is equally famous for both her singing and dancing styles. Sapna usually opts for the Raagini style of singing, as is the popular form of folk singing in Haryana.

On the personal front, she married singer Veer Sahu in 2020 and has a son with him.
