New Delhi: Giving a New Year treat to her fans, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is all set to make her comeback with the action-driven sports drama 'Chakda Xpress'. Anushka will be seen essaying the role of former Indian women's cricket captain Jhulan Goswami.
Anushka Sharma has been missing from the silver screen after her last film 'Zero' that released in 2018. Directed by Anand L Rai, this Shah Rukh Khan starrer film featured Anushka as a scientist with cerebral palsy. The actress who has always wowed the audience with her versatile characters is once again geared-up to strike a sixer with her power-packed performance as she essays the role of Jhulan Goswami in the Netflix original film.
The actress shared a teaser on her Instagram, giving a sneak peek of the compelling sports drama. Her friends and co-stars from the industry soon flooded the comments section of the post appreciating the actor's look in the film.
Actor Arjun Kapoor wrote,"Jeh Baat", lauding Anushka's compelling look. He also shared the teaser on his Instagram.
Taapsee Pannu who is essaying the role of Mithali Raj, current Test and ODI captain of the India women's national cricket team in the upcoming film 'Shabash Mithu', also applauded Anushka. She commented,"From Mithali to Jhulan! Go for it sister." The 'Rashmi Rocket' actress also shared the film's teaser in her Instagram story.

Actors Varun Dhawan and Bhumi Pednekar also dropped kudos and power emojis. Ranveer Singh who nailed his character as former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev in '83', dropped hearts for his 'Band Baaja Baarat' co-star. Ranveer wrote,"Love it!"
Sharing the teaser, Anushka expressed that the film is really special as it is a story of tremendous sacrifice. She also went on to shed light on the sacrifices and the troubles that Jhulan had to face in order to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage. Applauding Jhulan's efforts, Anushka wrote,"Jhulan had a fighting and extremely uncertain cricketing career and she stayed motivated to make her country proud. She strived to change the stereotype that women can't make a career out of playing cricket in India so that the next generation of girls had a better playing field."
Produced by Anushka Sharma's brother Karnesh Sharma, 'Chakda Xpress' will have an OTT release on Netflix.
